Senior Mechanical Engineer reporting into the Director Mechanical Systems
Location: Dublin 15
Job Scope: We are currently searching for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Dublin Device Engineering team in a Contract Role.
Working within a Matrix Organizational structure, the Mechanical Engineer will help develop a new complex medical device. In this role, medical device experience is not essential.
Job Responsibilities: Support Development Activities for Sustaining and New Product DevelopmentLead Engineering activitiesDesign electro-mechanical components and assembliesDesign plastic single-use partsLead in the development of Test Plans and ProtocolsExecute characterization tests and draft test reportsActively participate as part of a multi-skilled development teamLead Root Cause Analysis of engineering problemsDevelop innovative solutions to engineering problemsConstruct prototypes; evaluate and document their performance; identify possible improvementsCreate and implement suitable tests to verify designs meet requirementsLead and Support Technical Reviews for New Product Reviews and Sustaining Product ReviewsResponsible for recording and sharing technical knowledge gained with colleaguesAdhere to design control and risk management policiesJob Requirements: 5+ years' experience, preferably in a regulated environmentStrong Problem Solving SkillsExperience in the development of complex devices from concept through to validation activitiesHands-on experience constructing mechanical prototypes utilizing rapid-prototyping methods and equipmentProficiency with SolidWorks requiredFailure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) experience a plusOutgoing personality with a strong desire to learnIs a self-starter, can manage multiple tasks, and work with minimal supervisionStrong Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet)
