Mechanical Engineering Technician - Data Center, DUB Mechanical TeamDESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking a Data Center Operations Electrical/Mechanical/Control Technician to join our Engineering Operations Team.
The successful candidate will oversee the operation and maintenance of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure for Data Centers (DC) in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud regions. Our technicians are operating and maintaining AWS DCs' world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure. In addition to technical operations and maintenance, the successful candidate will oversee facility operations and ensure the implementation of safety procedures.
The role requires a motivated, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems while striving for operational excellence. The work follows a process-oriented approach: the individual needs a strong willingness to learn new processes and adapt to rapidly changing operational scenarios with conflicting priorities.
The successful candidate will be part of the Engineering and Facilities team and will be responsible for maintaining availability for customers; ensuring maintenance and operation of technical infrastructure; and the upkeep and operation of the DC facility.
Key job responsibilities Assisting in the operation, and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical and HVAC equipment within the Data Center/Facility.Develop work plan for emergency repair of critical assets.Troubleshooting of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems.Operate under minimal supervision.Create and close Work Orders with appropriate data, to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used into asset management system.Maintain changes in state in Mission Critical infrastructure in support of corrective/preventive maintenance.Testing: Test quality, performance, safety, and reliability of products, equipment, processes.Act as a front line responder for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of generic mechanical room infrastructure such as chillers, cooler units, and fan controls.Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in data center engineering.Experience leading and managing operations of critical facilities which require in-depth knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and control systems.Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory.
