Job DescriptionOur client is a leading Mechanical Engineering Contractor working on large scale industrial buildings projects across Ireland and require mechanical estimators / cost engineers to join the team based in WaterfordReporting to the Senior Estimator or the Estimating Manager and as an integral part of the estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate mechanical cost estimates in a timely manner.
You will work on tenders for projects such as Pharmaceuticals, Food & Beverage, Data Centers, Semi-Conductor, Commercial, etc across Ireland and the UK.Conduct in-dept reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications,schedules, etcPreform accurate quantity take-offs and mark up measured drawingsRequest, manage and evaluate supplier and sub-contractor quotationsIssue tender queries and RFIsPrepare costed bill of quantitiesPrepare tender reports, tender pricing schedules and other tender return documentsAdvise on potential value engineering opportunitiesManage data baseAttend meetings and site visits are when requiredAdhere to tender return deadlinesLiaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and wider project teamsOther related tasks as instructedRequirementsDegree in either Mechanical, Process, Building Services Engineering or other related fieldPrevious mechanical cost estimating or design experience is desiredStrong computer skills especially in the use of MS OfficeStrong understanding of mechanical & process pipework systems, HVAC, plumbing and other mechanical building services systemsGood knowledge of different mechanical & process pipework materialsStrong attention to detailAbility to interpret drawings and specifications, preform accurate take-offs, and prepare detailed BOQsAbility to manage own workload and meet deadlinesMust display excellent time management, communication, numerical, analytical and organisational skillsProblem solving skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilitiesPackage€45K-€80K - Competitive salary packages negotiable based on level of experience and qualificationsSome travel required to Limerick & Cork - ca3days per week.Options for candidates at all levels of experience, junior, intermediate & senior
