About your new role as a Quantity Surveyor:
Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Galway.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of mechanical services within construction projects, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a background in mechanical systems and a passion for cost management in construction.
Some of the key responsibilities are listed below:
Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.Monitor and report on project costs, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying areas for cost control.Assist with procurement processes, including tendering, supplier negotiations, and subcontractor management.Review project specifications and drawings to identify cost-effective solutions and provide value engineering input.Manage variations and changes to the scope of works, ensuring they are accurately valued and documented.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements.Provide regular progress reports, including cost forecasting and final account preparation.Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure seamless communication and successful project delivery.Assist with contract administration and dispute resolution as required.What Skills You Need: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Proven experience as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the construction industry.Strong understanding of mechanical services, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.Experience with contract management, procurement, and cost estimation.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software.Membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS, CICES) is an advantage, but not essential.Whats on Offer: Competitive salary with opportunities for career development.Health insurance and pension scheme.Professional training and development opportunities.Flexible working arrangements.A supportive and collaborative work environment.Whats Next:
