Mechanical Technician (Data Centre)

Due to significant growth, my client is looking for aMechanical Technicianfor an immediate start.

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be tasked with attaining/maintaining the highest levels of proficiency in operating and maintaining the equipment in Data Centres.

You will be responsible for procedure-based mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and quality checks of third-party vendors.

Main duties include: Routine Maintenance: Oversight of the day-to-day operation of mechanical equipment across all data centres. Conduct or oversee hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical infrastructure systems and equipment. Assist with the procurement process, method statements, and risk assessments. Assist with scheduling of mechanical repairs. Supervision of mechanical contractors while on site. Ensure that all personnel within the site observe and comply with the safe system of work. Routinely examine maintenance records to ensure that necessary work has been completed. Ensure mechanical repairs and maintenance are performed to a high standard, and all industry requirements are met on every task. Inform the Mech Engineer/Senior SME of any failures/defects in equipment and of any dangerous conditions or practices. Oversight and supervision of cooling capacity within critical environments. Support shift team with mechanical procedures. Track maintenance and repair work to completion. Responsible for upkeep of Fgas documentation for all sites. Participate in root cause analysis activities, specifically mechanical infrastructure systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have the following: Qualified Craftsperson or Primary degree Minimum of 4 years' experience in a critical environment such as a Data Centre Experience in maintaining HVAC, cooling systems, and other mechanical infrastructure critical to data centre operations Experience in working with multidiscipline teams. Experience in dealing with customer problems in difficult circumstances. 3rd party vendor management Up to date with new technologies Excellent communication skills and fluent in English. In-depth knowledge of Building Management Systems and associated technologies Due to the urgency of this vacancy, it is not possible for our client at this time to consider anyone without the appropriate work permits, visas or sponsorship's already in place.
