Position: Senior House Officer (Medical & Surgical) - Immediate Start Department: Medical and Surgical Hours: 39 hours/week Remuneration: Competitive, based on experience Contract Length: Initial 6 Months with a view to permanency Requirements: Irish Medical Council Registration (Active Status) Considerable post-internship experience (Medicine & Surgery) Previous experience in an Irish hospital setting (Desirable but not essential).
Valid IELTS/OET result (the two accepted standards are IELTS overall band 7, not less than 6.5 in each do-main or OET Grade B Overall) MRCP, BLS & ACLS (Desirable but not essential) Ability to start in January or February 2025 (Required) IMPORTANT - Applications will be deemed unsuccessful if they fail to meet the above requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality patient care in line with the Hospital's mission and values.
Perform patient assessments, document histories, and physical exams.
Prescribe medications and manage patient care under consultant supervision.
Participate in ward rounds and assist in clinical procedures.
Ensure smooth discharge processes with accurate documentation.
Contribute to continuous professional education and quality improvement.
Promote patient safety and participate in risk management initiatives.
