Merchandiser / Goods In Assistant Part of Grafton Group Plc, Chadwicks Group is the market leader in the builder's merchanting industry in the Republic of Ireland.
The core business is through the traditional Builders Merchants division.
Main brands include Chadwicks, Cork Builders Providers, Davies & Telfords.
In addition, and through organic growth and acquisitions, the Group has established a range of brands which are close to the core but offer a uniquely different range of products.

Principle Objective The Merchandiser plays a key role in the smooth functioning of the store's operations, ensuring that all products delivered are accurately checked, stocked, and displayed.
The role involves a mix of hands-on product handling, inventory control, and customer service, ensuring a well-organised and clean store environment.
Knowledge & Experience Prior experience in a similar role (merchandising, warehouse operations, or goods inwards) is preferred but not essential.Basic knowledge of hardware products and store layouts is advantageous.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving stock.Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.Good communication and customer service skills.Key Responsibilities Accurately check off and verify deliveries.Organise incoming stock into the appropriate areas for storage and stocking.Allocate products to correct bay ensuring placement and alignment with store layout.Ensure products are properly labeled and priced.Ensure stock rotation practices are followed to minimise outdated or expired products.Ensure goods in area and shop floor are kept tidy, organized, and clean at all times.Provide exceptional face-to-face customer service by helping customers locate products or answer general inquiries based on product knowledge and store layout.Essential Competencies Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.The flexibility and willingness to learn.Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication skills.To enjoy working with people.A positive attitude.Contract Type 6-Month Fixed Term Contract39 hours per weekWorking week Monday to Friday – Saturday rosterLocation: Sallynoggin, Co.
