SUMMARY
The Metrology Engineer is responsible for generating metrology programs, completing GR&R studies and supporting the metrology requirements of the wider organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Generate CMM (PC-Dmis) & Vision System OGP Smartscope (Measure Mind) programs. Manage Gauge R&R runs and generate Gauge Capability Study reports. Troubleshoot metrology issues with existing metrology programs and metrology equipment. Identify and support new jigs and fixtures required for new product introduction. Train employees on metrology instruments. Support new product introduction. Generate FAI/OQ/PQ reports for new product introduction. Constantly seek to improve work processes; have a quality-first mentality; learn from internal and external best practices to apply to your work. Support all company Lean Manufacturing principles. Support continuous improvement projects. Support all company quality programs and initiatives. Address Quality System Requirements in a timely manner. Adhere strictly to principles of data integrity. Perform all activities in strict accordance with the Quality Management System. Take personal accountability for your own safety and support a culture of safety management through compliance with all safety policies, safety observation reporting, and proactive involvement in Jabil AIM and Safety First programs. Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS BS Degree or equivalent 2+ years of experience in Quality/Metrology Engineering role and 2+ years of experience in programming metrology measuring machines. Fully competent in Quality Management Standards. Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills. Excellent computer skills (MS Office applications [Excel], solving basic issues with PC). Proficient in Minitab, OGP Smartscope, CMM (PC Dmis) experience desirable.
