The Role

ALS has a fantastic opportunity for a Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join their team in Clonmel.

Full training will be provided by ALS.

Hours Per Week: 37
Days Per Week: Sunday - Thursday (14:00 - 22:00 initially)
Contract: Full Time and Permanent
Salary: €27,430 per annum

Starting salary of €27,430 rising to €29,735 within 6 months depending on performance.
Additional shift allowance available for staff working on a shift pattern.

The day to day To perform work as allocated by Shift Supervisor to the high standards of quality required and to inform Shift Supervisor in cases of doubtful validity of results. To ensure that agreed quality systems are continually adhered to such as calibration checks, internal quality controls, daily checks, and spiked samples. As a member of the team, to ensure that laboratory areas are kept tidy, especially designated area. Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe manner with due regard and compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and procedures. Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times with respect to customer information. Perform other duties as required. The Essentials Third level qualification in science or related discipline. Experience in laboratory testing would be a distinct advantage but is not essential. Excellent standards of PC literacy (Excel, Word). Analytical and logical approach with a keen eye for detail. Keen interest in food science and food safety. Able to thrive under pressure and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Working at ALS
