We are hiring a Microbiology Technician for a 1 Year Fixed Term Contract.
This role is based onsite at our Dun Laoghaire Plant.
This role supports the production and sterilization operations at embecta Dun Laoghaire by efficient operation of the Microbiology Lab.
Responsibilities Contributes to the maintenance of the Microbiology Lab including organization and clean-up, preparation and testing of lab test media, decontamination of bio-hazardous materials, disinfecting lab work surfaces, coordination and performance of calibration of lab test instrumentation and equipment and ordering/maintaining lab supplies.
Support the manufacturing process by carrying out all routine and non-routine Bioburden, Endotoxin and Bacteriostatic/Fungistatic and Sterility Dose Audit testing.
Implement and support the plant environmental monitoring programme.
Support the validation of sterilization processes and maintenance of validation through dose mapping and dose setting as required.
Perform the investigation of all out of specification conditions as per documented procedures.
Follow all microbiology and sterilization procedures as applicable.
Perform a review of processed product lots and approval of lots for release Support all Product development and non-routine testing/project testing as required.
Prepare and perform growth promotion testing of laboratory media as per documented procedures and gram staining.
Perform testing and inspection audits to support the maintenance of the cleanroom Adhere to all embecta and external regulatory requirements.
Support all internal and external audits as required.
Integrate with appropriate embecta technical specialist groups Writing and update of SOPs ensuring compliance is maintained and GMP Promote and participate in the implementation and maintenance of the relevant safety programmes Experience and Education Bachelor of Science Microbiology/ Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in a relevant scientific field.
An appropriate level of experience in a relevant background may also be considered.
At least one year experience in a GMP compliant, FDA regulated microbiology laboratory environment.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred Familiarity with ISO13485 and 21 CFR part 820 Quality systems.
Experience in a cleanroom environment would be a benefit in this role.
