Contract Type: 23 Month FTC **Closing Date for Applications:** 4th December 2024 Business Summary The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities.
Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing for the Exchequer and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority (NewERA), the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) and the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA). The NTMA also assigns staff to the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA), the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) and Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI). Recently the NTMA mandate has expanded to include oversight and management of the Future Ireland Fund (FIF) and the Infrastructure, Nature and Climate Fund (ICNF).
Role Summary The NTMA has an immediate requirement for a Microsoft (MS) Business Applications Architect, reporting to the Head of ICT Strategy, Planning & Governance in the NTMA's Information, Communications and Technology department. The role requires extensive experience of architecture, design, and development of Microsoft business applications, including the maintenance of Power Platform, including Dynamics 365, and Microsoft stack technologies.
The role will work closely with ICT stakeholders, including Project Management Office, Technical Architects, Business Analysts, Development Software Testing and ICT Operations teams and will be responsible for providing technical application assessment, design, and development skills across a diverse range of projects.
As the Microsoft Business Applications Architect, the successful candidate will be assigned to a wide variety of projects and activities such as in-house systems development projects, business intelligence and data analytics projects, 3rd party systems integration projects, and Business-As-Usual and application support activities. This will require the successful candidate to work closely with internal business stakeholders in a wide variety of business areas such as Treasury, Finance, Claims Management, Investment Funds and State guaranteed lending.
As the role will work closely with both the business and ICT teams, it requires deep technology knowledge and the ability to deliver solutions in line with business requirements and the available technology stack.

Duties and Responsibilities: Design, develop, maintain, and enhance software solutions Assist in the definition and documenting of technical requirements and proposalsDeveloping, managing, and adhering to industry development principles, standards and templates and drive alignment to these through the solution development processWrite clean, scalable, maintainable code and ensure the development approach is in line with the proposed design and overall standardsDesign, prototype and implement solutions across multiple architecturesTranslate business needs & understanding into systems designCommunicate with business stakeholders and business analysts to ensure the solution design meets requirementsProvide guidance and advice to colleagues and stakeholdersAssist with providing inputs to project plans regarding feasibility, estimates and scope.Conduct research and development on new and emerging technologies which may benefit the organisation and evaluate new products and 3rd party software components, where requiredParticipate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with the teamParticipate in the configuration and maintenance of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelinesSupport the business Plan and assist on implementation of software version upgrade releases.Support the applications developed by the teamProvide advice to the Business Units on Microsoft business applications projectsAdvise on system performance and provide solutions to performance issuesInterface with Microsoft Corporation and partners on Technical supportKnowledge and Skills Requirements: Education
• Engineering or Bachelor or Master's degree in computing science / information systems / IT
• Microsoft certifications in Power Platform and .NET technologies
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCPS)
Experience At least 10 years' experience in the design and development of Microsoft business applications, including the maintenance of Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and .NET development platformAt least 12 years' experience working in ICT rolesExperience and excellent understanding of design and development on the MS Power Platform (incl Power Automate flows), SharePoint, and Azure Apps/Web ServicesExperience of working within an Agile MethodologyExperience and ability to clearly document high-level and detailed designsExperience of Data Modelling and Data IntegrationPension Abatement If an appointee has previously been employed in the Civil or Public Service and that appointee is entitled to or in receipt of a pension from the Civil or Public Service or where a Civil/Public Service pension comes into payment during the appointee's re-employment that pension will be subject to abatement in accordance with Section 52 of the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and other Provisions) Act 2012.
