Mid-West Regional Development Officer Mid West Regional Officer is a part time (2 1/2 days a week) fixed term contract for 12 months Position Overview & Main Responsibility Cystic Fibrosis Ireland (CFI) in partnership with our regional branch Tipperary, Limerick and Clare (TLC4CF) is seeking to employ a Fixed Term part-time Regional Development Officer for a period of 12 months.The role of the Mid West Regional Officer The Role Support and facilitate the improvement of hospital services for people with CF in the Mid-West area (with support from TLC4CF committee and CFI Head Office) Administrative support and project manage a variety of ongoing projects with the aim of improving the lives of people with CFSupport the preparation of TLC4CF meetingsSupport the preparation of meetings with University Hospital of LimerickProvide an information and personal advocacy service for members living with CF and their families (in partnership and support from CFI head office in Dublin)Support and attend TLC4CF fundraising initiatives in the Mid-West Region To attend Cheque presentations and Branch meetings in Tipperary, Limerick and ClareContract: The role is a 2 ½ day part-time Fixed Term Contract for 12 monthsThe person appointed will be a senior coordinator grade and a Salary of €38,000 (full time salary which will be pro rata for part-time).Please note, this role is remote based with frequent travel to hospital, check presentations, fundraising events etc required locally.The Person The Regional Development Officer will be someone who is good at multi-tasking and who has an empathy with people and their families living with a long term disease.They should have a level of confidence and skill base required from someone who interacts with both patients and their families; supporters of CF initiatives and who is also comfortable interacting with the statutory sector.
A regional strategic plan will inform their role and work.Essential Qualifications & Experience: Experience in development type work such as coordinating projects either in Ireland or abroad Strong social skillsStrong writing and communication skillsGood coordination skillsGood IT skillsMust be able to drive and have their own carDesirable: Ideally a third level qualification in social sciences/community or local development; or considerable experience in community or local developmentAn understanding of the health system in Ireland An understanding of broader social policy Interaction with statutory agencies on public service issues Ability to work strategically Background to the post CFI is the recognised national charity for people with CF and TLC4CF is the regional branch comprised of the Tipperary, Limerick and Clare branches.
