Role Overview: As a Transport Planner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our transport services.
You will be responsible for planning and optimising routes, managing resources, and liaising with drivers and clients to deliver outstanding service.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and a passion for logistics.
Key Responsibilities: Route Planning & Optimization: Develop efficient delivery and collection schedules to maximize resource utilization and minimize costs.
Monitor and adjust plans in real time to accommodate changes and address challenges.
Driver Coordination: Communicate with drivers to provide clear instructions and updates.
Ensure compliance with driving hours regulations and company policies.
Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing queries and providing updates on delivery statuses.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to foster trust and satisfaction.
System Management: Utilize transport management software to schedule, track, and report on deliveries.
Maintain accurate records of all transport activities.
Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact service delivery.
Implement contingency plans to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company standards.
Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules to guarantee operational readiness.
Key Skills & Experience: Proven experience in a transport planning or logistics role, ideally within a large-scale operation.
Strong knowledge of transport regulations and industry best practices.
Proficiency in using transport management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
