We're working with leading waste management company with a focus on sustainability and efficiency who offer services tailored to both residential and commercial customers.
Due to continued growth, they're looking for a MRF Plant Production Manager to join the team.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all waste processing plant and equipment within the MRF is functioning efficiently, well maintained and delivers results.
The role focuses on maximising performance, controlling costs, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities: Implement best practices to optimise production and consistently meet KPI targets.
Regularly analyse performance data and lead the team to achieve objectives.
Manage daily operations, including staff allocation, material handling, production efficiency, and effective use of resources.
Create and manage work schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels for operational continuity and leave coverage.
Supervise staff performance, ensuring operational requirements are met with minimal downtime and disruptions.
Ensure the MRF operates efficiently and cost-effectively by actively overseeing day-to-day processes, including staffing levels (permanent and agency), hours worked, material handling, production targets, fuel usage, trends, and 5S methodology adherence.
Oversee the compliant and efficient handling, sorting, and delivery of waste materials to appropriate outlets, including pre-sorting by loading machine operators.
Enforce all revenue and cost control measures, ensuring weighbridge traffic is monitored, waste received is accurately categorised, and fuel usage and site access are properly managed.
Ensure all staff are fully trained for their roles, with all tasks performed in strict accordance with Health & Safety guidelines.
Monitor and enforce all health and safety procedures applicable to the MRF and yard, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations Ensure spare parts stock is well-managed and maintenance staff are upskilled as needed.
Enforce all Health & Safety procedures, ensuring staff are trained and operations comply with regulations.
What They're Looking For: Proven management experience in a production or waste processing facility.
Experience overseeing operations in a labour-intensive, multi-shift environment.
