Network Systems Administrator

Our client is Ireland's largest, open access network provider, building and operating the largest alternative wholesale telecoms network in Ireland. As the Network Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of internal network infrastructure across the group. A key part of your role will be to support and develop the group's Network Management Systems, Operational Support Systems, and Performance Management systems.
We operate a hybrid working model, with 2 days per week in our Limerick office (Tuesday and Wednesday). This role reports to the IT Team Lead.
Key Responsibilities: Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade corporate network infrastructure across the Group's various sites, including offices, data centres, and co-locations.Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade the Group's internal Network Management Systems, Performance Management Systems, and Operational Support Systems.Provide operational support to internal users relating to network and NMS responsibilities.Research, develop, design, and architect systems and networks.Manage purchasing and acquisitions.Support and administer third-party applications.Install and integrate new server hardware and applications.Monitor system and network availability, performance, and capacity.Review and remediate security vulnerabilities across related systems and networks.Assist the IT Team Lead and Head of IT with network policies and procedures.Work with other members of the IT Department to provide network infrastructure for related projects.Key Skills / Qualifications: Previous System Administration experience and Network Engineering or NOC experience, preferably within the telecommunications industry.BSc. in Computer Science/relevant technical accreditations (MCSE, CISSP, CCNA, etc.) or relevant professional experience.Minimum 2 years of work experience in a similar role.Experience administering corporate networks including switching, routing, and Wi-Fi.Experience administering Network Management Systems in an ISP or Telco setting is essential. This can include, but is not limited to, platforms such as Nokia NSP/5620 SAM, CA/Broadcom DX NetOps/Spectrum/Performance Manager/Unified Infrastructure Manager, Ceragon Netmaster, PRTG, Solarwinds or similar.Previous experience administering and architecting virtualized server and storage platforms.Previous experience administering microarchitecture.Extensive knowledge of various network protocols such as RADIUS, SNMP, BGP, VPN, Ethernet, etc.On offer is a generous company pension contribution, performance-based annual bonus, generous annual leave, and a hybrid approach requiring two days onsite at the Limerick facility.
