Nurse Locations: Clane Day Service - 28 hours per week Childrens Residential Respite 37.5 hours per week The successful candidates will have experience working with people with complex nursing needs and people who may exhibit challenging behaviour, while also being involved with Person Centred Planning.
As part of the team at Kare, you will focus on community inclusion and communicating with families.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with and demonstrate an understanding of contemporary approaches to positive behavioural support and the principles of community inclusion.
Responsibilities Play an active role in the completion of the Assessment of Need for individuals.
Playan integral role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a persons Individual Support Plan.
Plan & assess individuals health care needs and support non-nursing staff to follow health care support plans.
Support individuals to enhance their life by following their Individual Support Plan in a wide variety of life areas achieving goals and objectives, Personal Care, Work & Leisure, Lifelong Learning, community inclusion, etc.
Maintain effective communication with the team, families and an individuals support network.
Maintain all necessary records in accordance with KAREs policies.
Deliver training to staff teams where required.
Requirements Qualification:A recognised validated university degree or equivalent qualification in Intellectual Disability Nursing, General Nursing, or Paediatric Nursing.
Candidates must be eligible to work in Ireland.
Must be registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) A full, clean, manual, Irish driving licence is essential.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Experience working with challenging behaviour particularly with people who have an intellectual disability.
Experience of working with adults and children preferably in an intellectual disability setting.
