the service* The Role: We are seeking applications from energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our dedicated team for the position of nurse within our service for adults with Intellectual Disabilities. Candidates must be professional, highly motivated, creative and passionate about working in Intellectual Disability Services. Candidates must be self-driven, focused and strong team players. The role of Nurse is to provide holistic, person centered nursing care, promoting optimum independence, enhancing the quality of life for the people we support with intellectual, physical or sensory disabilities in all aspects of daily living. S/he must practice in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct as set out by the Nursing Board (An Bórd Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) and within the policies, guidelines, protocols of the Association. This role supports people with Intellectual Disabilities with additional physical and sensory needs in activities of daily leaving. Essential Criteria: Qualified General/Intellectual Disability/Mental Health Nurse. Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann). Experience of working in a care delivery capacity within a disability service. Experience of liaising with statutory and other voluntary agencies. Knowledge of HIQA Regulations, Disability Act 2005; Health and Safety Legislation; Data Protection & GDPR. A full drivers licence with access to a car insured for business purposes and must be willing to drive Association vehicles is desirable. Where applicable applicants must hold a valid Irish work permit.
