Occupational Therapist, Senior, General Medicine/Care Of The Older Persons, Mallow General Hospital

This post will cover acute, inpatient medical beds in Mallow General Hospital as well as provide outreach services to outpatients of Mallow General Hospital or patients discharged from the hospital.
The outreach into the community will involve follow-up of recently discharged patients and patients of the Acute Medical Assessment Unit.

The caseload consists of general medical and care of the elderly patients.

The Senior Occupational Therapist will provide the advanced clinical knowledge and expertise to design and implement a high-quality service in the designated speciality care area.
He / She will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of an evidence-based, patient-focused, quality infused Occupational Therapy to the service users.
The Senior will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to manage a caseload of patients within the designated specialty care area.

The post holder, as and when may be required, will receive support from the Occupational Therapy staff within the department.
Conversely, the post holder may, from time to time, be required to provide support to the other Occupational Therapy services, under the umbrella of the designated hospital, as designated by the Occupational Therapist Manager.

The Occupational Therapist Manager reserves the right to rotate staff, as and when appropriate, according to staffing and service needs.
