JOB SUMMARY: The Occupational Therapy Manager is a key appointment in the development of a comprehensive/effective service for adults with an intellectual disability and children with complex needs.
The Occupational Therapy Manager will be responsible for the overall management and performance of occupational therapy activity within Ability West in keeping with good professional practice and subject to agreed national policy directives and priorities. The Occupational Therapy Manager will be responsible for the management, delivery and development of high-quality Occupational Therapy services to adult service users, working in conjunction with other team members in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the people we support, as well as carrying a clinical caseload.
He/she will liaise with other discipline and service managers as well as the multidisciplinary team in providing a quality service which enables service users to realise their potential by delivering a coordinated approach to their care, within a Person-Centred Practice Model.
The Occupational Therapy Manager as Head of Discipline will be responsible for clinical supervision and clinical governance as outlined under the Occupational Therapists working in Ability West engaging collaboratively with the Head of Disciplines (HODs) in ensuring a quality, best-practice service provision to children and their families. REQUIREMENT: a) Be registered as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapist Registration Board at CORU b) Maintain annual registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
