We are seeking an experienced Onshore HV Cable Engineer to join a team in Ireland, with positions available in Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Dundalk. This role involves providing technical expertise in the design, routing, and installation of high-voltage cables for HVDC and HVAC interconnectors, as well as offshore windfarm projects. The successful candidate will contribute to a range of challenging projects, including the development of cable burial route risk assessments and the optimization of cable protection systems for subsea applications. Requirements: Relevant experience in HV cable engineering.Electrical/electronic/power engineering qualification (HNC, HND, BSc/BEng, MSc/MEng).Professional qualification in Electrical Engineering (CEng or working towards chartership).Proficiency in software tools for cable analysis (e.g., Cymcap, Cableizer, COMSOL).Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in creating and presenting technical reports.Ability to lead technical discussions with clients and understand customer requirements.Knowledge of HVAC and HVDC transmission principles and power systems.Ability to work under pressure while ensuring safety, quality, and engineering integrity.Willingness to participate in professional bodies such as CIGRE and IET.Responsibilities: Provide technical expertise for bids and proposals, and represent the company in client meetings.Perform HVDC/HVAC cable calculations and develop cable burial route risk assessments, landfall, and cable protection systems.Gather and analyze engineering data, generating detailed cable reports.Develop detailed engineering designs for HVAC/HVDC, IAC, and export cables, including static and dynamic systems.Propose solutions to engineering challenges, modifying standard procedures as needed.Review and optimize design, routing, installation, commissioning, and decommissioning solutions.Collaborate with clients to understand and address their technical requirements.This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile energy projects, contributing to the development of sustainable infrastructure in Ireland.
