Position Description Are you looking for a new challenge? We are looking for an Onshore Wind Project Manager to join us on our journey to a Brighter Future. Here in Renewables Projects, we provide project management and engineering services in support of renewable power generation for ESB and external clients.
Working with our colleagues in ESB Asset Development we develop projects as the business case evolves and progress projects based on risks and opportunities. Wind energy has been identified as a key part of ESB's strategy to increase renewable generation capacity to 5GW by 2030. Projects are expected to be developed from a number of sources including development opportunities and acquisitions.
Due to an increase in the volume of work associated with this programme of projects, a vacancy has arisen for an Onshore Wind Project Manager in Renewable Projects Development (RPD).
Key Responsibilities Leading a project team in the delivery of wind farm projects from early development phase through to construction and compliance testing.Supporting the ESB Asset Development Team on achieving viable routes to market for projects such as PPA and CFD Auction process.Maintain an accurate resource requirement plan to deliver on commitments and work collaboratively with other teams to obtain the necessary resources and input to the company Strategic Resource Plan.Support the development and continuous improvement of expertise and skills within the UK onshore team.Take responsibility for project health and safety and lead the implementation of CDM, PSDP or Principal Designer processes across the projects.Knowledge, Skills and Experience 3 years or more years relevant post-qualification experience.Excellent leadership skills coupled with a track record in delivering projects, with relevant experience in managing engineering and other disciplines.A strong understanding of the commercial and technical aspects of project design and construction.A good awareness of health and safety procedures, processes, applicable legislation, regulations, directives, professional codes of practice and CDM.Experience of working independently from own initiative, taking ownership of work/projects and motivating team members to deliver team objectives or projects.Experience of the implementation of project management methodologies for projects.An understanding of contracts (TSAs, BOPs and EPCs), particularly FIDIC.An understanding of onshore wind projects including specific risks associated to development, construction, and operation of onshore wind projects.Qualifications A recognised degree level / third level qualification in engineering.Masters in engineering or related discipline.Chartered Engineer status with a recognised engineering institution or demonstrate evidence of progression towards same.Project Management qualification/certification or working towards the same.Location This role can be carried out in either Republic of Ireland or in the UK. If Ireland, then you will be based at 1 Dublin Airport Complex (1DAC), ROI. If the UK, then you will be based at either our Cheshire, Manchester or Glasgow offices. Travel nationwide & internationally will also be a feature of this role.
