About the Role: The Risk Function is an independent, second line of defence function that monitors, controls and supports risk-taking activities across AIB. The purpose of Risk is to provide advice and guidance in relation to risk while providing independent oversight and reporting on AIB's risk profile.
Risk's main objective is to ensure AIB has a robust risk management framework and culture in place to ensure risks are taken within the risk appetite set by the Board, in support of AIB's customer franchise and social responsibility.
The role is positioned within the Risk Technology & Transformation team where we manage Risk's Strategy and provide oversight of Risk's operations including workforce, external suppliers, change management and risk and control governance.
This role will be accountable for ensuring appropriate governance and controls are in place for delivery and change management processes to future proof the Risk function. Delivery and oversight of all Third Party Management (TPM) and Sourcing responsibilities within Risk will be a key part of this role, with accountability for managing all aspects of Risk's external supplier interactions. The role will be responsible for supporting Sourcing in contract negotiations with Risk's suppliers to achieve favourable terms for the Bank. In addition, this role will be responsible for internally influencing key decisions within group committees and building strong relationships with senior stakeholders in Risk and across the bank e.g. TPM, Sourcing and Legal.
Ability to challenge senior stakeholders on the simplification of all risks and controls within Risk.Accountability for all Risk's external supplier relationships and governance while consistently adhering to the Third Party Management and Sourcing policies.Drive engagement in Third Party Management and Sourcing related activities across all Risk.Deliver strong commercial outcomes for AIB through contract negotiations with all Risk external suppliers.Strong negotiation and influencing skills dealing with senior stakeholder groups, representing Risk at senior Group committees.Continuously drive process improvements across all activities.What you will bring: Third level degree/professional qualification, 5+ years' banking experience with experience in procurement, sourcing or risk preferable.Proven track record of strong influencing and negotiation skills with senior stakeholders.Strong presentation skills and experience driving favourable outcomes at committees or senior forums.Ability to challenge senior stakeholders on the identification and simplification of risks and delivery of mitigating controls.Excellent verbal and written communication with strong attention to detail.Strong leadership and organisational skills with a proven ability in building strong internal networks.Life at AIB At AIB, we have a clear purpose - Empowering people to build a sustainable future.
