The organisation is looking for an individual who can make a long-term contribution to the festival's development in this newly created position which will operate at a senior level within the GIAF management team.

About Galway International Arts Festival Founded in 1978, Galway International Arts Festival (GIAF) is a major cultural organisation, which produces one of Europe's leading international arts festivals. It is a key date in the Irish summer calendar, a flagship event for the West of Ireland and a key platform for the production and presentation of new Irish work.
About the Role The role offers the opportunity to be part of one of the most experienced teams in the festival sector in Europe, a chance to work with arts professionals and creatives from across the globe as well as the prospect of working and living in a culturally vibrant and attractive city.
The successful candidate will join the team during a period of growth in terms of the ambition of the festival. Reporting directly to the Festival CEO, the Operations Manager will play a key role in managing the successful delivery of the organisation's annual work programme and festival period. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in management, be highly motivated and have excellent organisational, communication, financial and administrative skills.
Key Responsibilities Implementation of the Festival's Strategic Plan.Play a key role in the execution of the festival programme, including resource allocation.Oversee the preparation and management of contracts for artists and production companies.Support the development and execution of GIAF's sustainability and accessibility plans.Ensure all legal and contractual compliance, adhering to relevant legislation.Implement relevant operational policies and procedures.Oversee the preparation and management of contracts with Festival venues, key suppliers and vendors.Ensure all necessary health and safety and insurance requirements are met.Collaborate with the Financial Controller on budgeting and management accounts preparation.Recruit and manage some of GIAF's contract staff.Help administer State and EU funded projects.Oversee the management of GIAF's artist development programmes.Organize and ensure all IT and data protection requirements are in place for the organisation.Requirements Proven experience in project management, arts, and/or event management, with strong organisational and financial management skills.Highly motivated, practical, resourceful, and flexible, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines effectively.Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills, both in copywriting and interpersonal interactions.Strong ability to work collaboratively, build consensus, and function well as a team player.This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of one of Europe's most renowned festivals.
