About the Company At O'Brien Fine Foods/Green Farm Fine Foods we produce a number premium brands including Brady Family, Green Farm and Homebird.
We have a heritage in the production of handcrafted artisan type products and employ over 500 people across our Kildare and Westmeath Facilities.
This role will be based in our Green Farm Site in Rathowen, Co. Westmeath where the team consistently deliver and produce innovation in chicken and turkey products to make eating well easy for everyone.   Our dynamic Operations teams work across a variety of roles to ensure our fantastic products reach our customers and consumers to enjoy every day.
We are on a journey toward operational excellence where everyone has an opportunity to contribute and progress from Production Operative roles to functional leaders.  Role Purpose This is a People Lead role within the Operations Department responsible for the overall day to day management of the department.  To manage the day-to-day people safety at work in all relevant areas from yard, canteen, toilets, changing rooms & assigned work area To manage the day-to day people, product & premises quality standards & compliance To manage the day-to day operational costs of the area from appropriate staffing (productivity), attaining target yields & OEE, maximising & optimizing people, equipment, product sequencing, planned downtime, standard processes to ensure that the area always operates to a best-in-class standard To manage the day-to day people assignments to work areas, to ensure that all relevant training has been completed & that people are performing to the required standard To ensure that appropriate training records are available for all staff & to be able to show an improving overall room skills score over a defined period with appropriate staff trained to ensure easy deputization if & when required To manage staff holidays to ensure consistency of operation & working time directive holiday provision compliance.
To ensure that holidays are appropriately planned with appropriate records.
To ensure that any repeat/erratic absences are managed appropriately & are escalated if/when required.
To ensure that all relevant paperwork relating to any such issues are completed & maintained as required To manage the daily HR issues in a professional and appropriate manner while seeking the appropriate guidance if/when necessary To ensure that any repeat/persistent issues impacting the area performance (safety, quality, people, product, equipment, other) are appropriately investigated, root caused & actions agreed (with timeframes) with those who can impact the required changes.
To ensure that communication is maintained throughout the process To ensure that assigned actions are completed on time & in full and that the results are sustained as standard To always represent the area in a calm & professional manner
