We are seeking a Construction Plant Fitter to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
About the Role As a Construction Plant Fitter, you will play a vital role in maintaining, servicing, and repairing a range of machinery and equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.
This role involves working both on-site and off-site, using specialist tools and equipment to uphold the company's high standards.
Key Responsibilities Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on large and small engines.
Inspect, diagnose, and fix faults in machinery and components.
Perform checks on new equipment and ensure it meets operational standards.
Maintain accurate service records and manage documentation in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
Utilize a variety of specialist tools, such as hydraulic presses, to perform repairs.
Perform basic welding and operate lifting equipment in line with GA1 regulations.
Liaise with machinery checkers to address recurring faults and recommend solutions.
Train and mentor apprentices and trainees.
Attend manufacturer training courses (domestic and international) as required.
Maintain a clean and organized workshop and adhere to all health and safety procedures.
Deliver excellent customer service and ensure all stock levels are properly monitored.
Qualifications & Experience Completed apprenticeship in Construction Plant Fitting or similar industry experience (e.g., farming equipment).
Proven track record in diagnosing and repairing plant and machinery.
Expertise in hydraulic systems, electrics, and large workshop equipment.
Training certifications for industry products (e.g., JLG, Genie, Manitou) and Forklift Truck qualification (desirable).
Safe Pass certification and a full, clean ROI drivers license.
Key Skills Strong mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to repair and maintain tools and machines.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in engineering principles, mathematics, and technology.
Team player with the ability to work independently and creatively solve problems.
High standards of safety awareness and respect for colleagues.
Physical capability to perform tasks involving lifting, stretching, and bending.
Performance Measures Achieving first-time fixes.
Reducing equipment breakdowns and faults.
Meeting deadlines for hire desk requests.
Adhering to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) targets.
Mandatory Training Provided COSHH, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, and Hot Works.
GA1 and LPG Regulations.
Basic Welding, Abrasive Wheels, and Syrinx Software.
Cyber Security and Environmental Awareness.
