This post will be based in Cavan Monaghan Primary Care Services and will deliver a service across a number of locations including Connolly St Primary Care Centre; Virginia Primary Care Centre, North Monaghan Primary Care Centre and Cavan Monaghan Acute Hospital Services.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Clinical Optometrists in CH CDLMS Cavan Monaghan, from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post: The person appointed to the post will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering a coordinated approach to client care.
The primary aim of the Primary Care Eye Services is to promote good ophthalmic health and quality of life for all categories of patients who attend the eye clinic.
The service is currently based within Connolly Street Primary Care Centre Cavan.
The multi-disciplinary team will consist of 1 Consultant Ophthalmologist, 1 Optometrist, 1 Orthoptist and an Ophthalmic nurse.
Patients are referred to the Community Ophthalmology services by Public Health Nurses, School Nurses, Community Medical Doctors, General Practitioners, Ophthalmologists, Paediatricians, Optometrists and Disability Services.
The Optometrist therefore has a vital role to play in providing a comprehensive and high quality eye care service to patients in conjunction with other members of the Cavan/Monaghan Primary Care Eye Care team.
This team comprise of multi-disciplinary team members.
Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc. Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: (i) Be registered, or be eligible for registration, as an Optometrist in the
Optometrist Register with the Optical Registration Board at CORU.
AND (ii) A minimum of 5 years post registration experience.
AND (iii) Candidates must have experience of practice in relevant fields relating to patient management.
AND Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high
standard of suitability and management ability), for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
Annual registration On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Optometrist
Register maintained by the Optical Registration Board at CORU.
Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character Candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Post specific requirements: Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in Optometry as relevant to the role.
Other requirements specific to the post: A full driver's license is required and access to your own personal transport as the post will involve travel.
