Outreach, Prevention and Training Team Leader At Saoirse Domestic Violence Service we're looking for an Outreach, Prevention and Training Team Leader to join our team.
About the jobThe primary purpose of the Outreach Team Leader is to provide guidance and leadership to the Outreach service and staff in line with the company's aims, principles and vision.
Assisting the manager with the day to day provision of a community outreach service's supporting clients experiencing domestic abuse in the capacity of team leader and in line with the SDVS model of practice.Overseeing the delivery and further development SDVS Domestic Violence and Abuse Awareness Training.
Case managing clients one to one and delivery of programs and support in a group work setting.Ensuring the provision of community prevention and early intervention service for families in the community experiencing domestic abuse alongside the Outreach Prevention and Training Manager.
While networking and creating community awareness of referral paths and the issue of Domestic Violence.Main ResponsibilitiesTo manage and provide support to the staff team within the service, develop and deliver training, case management, care plans and communication across departments.To document information and complete paperwork, statistics and reports as deemed necessary for delivery of services to the clients.To liaise with other personnel as directed by the Outreach Manager.To continually ensure service compliance inclusive of the reviewing and updating Outreach service policies and procedures in consultation with management, including suggesting new policies as required by the service.To review and provide feedback on care plan and case management progress with the Outreach staff on a bi-weekly basis and liaise with the outreach manager on issues arising.To support case management as a co-worker on Complex cases which are deemed extremely high riskTo work as part of the SDVS team, liaising with other staff teams in relation to advocating for services for victims of violence.To write reports and maintain and update records and prepare statistics as required.To promote the philosophy of self-help and empowerment.To form part of the On-Call panel and execute any duties related to same.To perform such other duties appropriate to the post, which may be assigned by the Outreach Prevention and Training manager or other, designated manager.About youExperience:Third level Qualification at degree level in social care, social science or related field equivalent to the Irish Education Framework.A minimum of 4 years relevant frontline experience or 2 years experience working in a senior social care role within a team setting in the Domestic Sexual Gender Based Violence Sector.Experience in the community development sector, representing and advocacy with community and statutory services.QQI Training qualification or similar, combined with 2 years' experience delivering training in the community, with an ability to provide and design comprehensive training in person and virtually.Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of domestic violence.Excellent knowledge and understanding of the challenges and issues affecting women and children experiencing domestic violence.Understanding and working knowledge of Domestic Violence Act/Children's First Legislation/Child Care Act.Risk assessment/Safety and Care planning knowledge is essential.Skills:Strong leadership, role modelling and case management skills.Excellent facilitation training and communication skills.Excellent report writing skills.Excellent organisational skills.IT and Database skills.Ability to lone work safely.Personal Attributes:Passion to eradicate violence against women and children.Self-starter.Flexibility/Adaptability.Self-Motivated.Empathetic and resilient.Ability to work on own initiative.Experience of inter-agency working.Full driving license and access to own transport required.
