Packaging Engineer

A global medical device company are looking for a Packaging Engineer to join their Research and Development team on a contract basis.
The role will focus on the development of packaging for drug combination devices.
This role involves designing, validating, and developing packaging for both new and existing products.
You will be responsible for leading the packaging design process from concept generation through feasibility testing, design selection, and design freeze, ensuring rigorous testing through Design Verification and Validation phases.
This position will also involve guiding the packaging through to commercial release.
Responsibilities include:
Designing and developing packaging solutionsAnalysing past designsExploring new methods and innovative approachesEnsuring proper design and process implementationCollaborating with preferred suppliers, while remaining open to othersEmbracing new technologies and designsFocusing on design for manufacturability Essential skills:
Experience in packaging design and process for drug combination devicesHands-on testing experience, including working with test housesKnowledge of various packaging materials Desirable skills:
Experience in medical or pharmaceutical fields (not essential)Familiarity with sterilization methodsBroad industry experience The start date is for ASAP.
The initial contract length is for 12 months, with options to extend after.
The role is based in Limerick and will 1-2 day per week.
You will also be required to travel to suppliers occasionally too.
The rate is EUR50-60 per hour, depending on experience, if you have any expenses please let me know and I can factor that into the rate for you.
