The Pharmacy Department is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant to support us in the delivery of pharmacy services at HMP Humber.

Main duties of the jobAs a Pharmacy Assistant, you will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
The post holder will be an integral member of the Pharmacy Team, who form part of the wider healthcare.
You will be required to support the delivery of Pharmacy Services which will include supply of medication, supervision of administration of medication to prisoners, and providing NHS services to prisoners within your competency.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssentialNVQ level 2 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent experience).Ability to travel independently around Cheshire District.DesirableWillingness to undertake NVQ level 3 or equivalent.Knowledge and ExperienceEssentialAt least 2 years experience of working in community/hospital pharmacy.DesirableKnowledge of medicines management issues.Experience of working in a prison environment or similar setting.Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
