CUH is a regional center for various specialties, including rheumatology, neurosurgery, plastic and burns, cardiothoracic surgery, haematology, cystic fibrosis, and trauma orthopaedics, and is the largest multi-specialty site in the country.
CUH physiotherapy department has a staff of over 70 WTE providing services across inpatients, outpatients & outreach.
The department includes clinical specialists in Respiratory, Neurology/Neurosciences, Stroke, Rheumatology, Orthopaedic fracture clinic, and Pelvic Health, along with senior and rotational staff grade physiotherapists and 4 physiotherapy assistants. There are 8-10 undergraduate physiotherapy students on site at any given time.
We provide a 7-day respiratory service and a 7-day orthopaedic discharge & mobility service.
Purpose of the Post: Staff will screen the outpatient rheumatology waiting list & direct patients to the appropriate service depending on their needs.This service currently runs from Monday – Friday but may expand to a 7-day service in the future.Responsible for the provision of a high-quality Physiotherapy service in accordance with standards of professional practice.Work in conjunction with team members to coordinate and develop the service to meet the needs of the population in line with the objectives of the organization.Collaborate with the Physiotherapy Manager to ensure the coordination, development, and delivery of a quality, client-centered physiotherapy service across and between networks in the geographical area.Carry out clinical and educational duties as required.Responsible for a Physiotherapy clinical caseload.Informal Enquiries: Ms. Fiona Campbell, Physiotherapy Manager, Cork University Hospital
