Platform Engineer

This position is for a platform engineer in the hybrid cloud team of IBM's multi-cloud virtual agent and automation products watsonx Assistant and watsonx Orchestrate. Your primary responsibility will be the implementation, maintenance, and DevOps for OpenShift platform extensions via Kubernetes operators and controllers. You will be part of a small agile team, but you will interact with and provide capabilities to several other development, site reliability engineering (SRE), and support teams. You will participate in release cycles of watsonx Orchestrate, building and updating platform components in Go and Python using the Kubernetes APIs.
These platform components control various capabilities including data stores, Layer 4 and Layer 7 connectivity, authentication, authorization and load balancing. You must have a passion for examining how things work internally and excellent collaboration skills, since you will devise solutions to challenging problems in complex distributed systems with various different teams. Above all, we are looking for team members with a keen sense of ownership, resilience and drive.
