Polymer Apprentice Navan - Insulation Your future job Unilin Insulation is seeking an enthusiastic Polymer Apprentice who will gain hands-on experience in quality control, processing and advanced production techniques.
This role is based in Navan, Co Meath and is a unique chance to build a rewarding career in a dynamic and innovative industry while contributing to energy-efficient and cutting-edge insulation solutions.
This is a 3 Year Level 7 Bachelor of Science in Polymer Technology Apprenticeship Programme.
Academic block Trelease is 15 weeks per year, with the first academic block commencing in January 2026.
When not on academic release and pre-enrolment, you will carry out the functions of a Process Technician.

• Work with Operators to ensure Shopfloor Functions are carried out correctly – Staging Coils and IBC's, Spray and stoppage Registration Etc.• You are responsible for the Laydown team along with the Technical Processing Engineer to ensure product is made to a high standard.
Key to this is running to the formulation set up sheets, ensuring key parameters such as pressure, temperatures, gel time and laminator thickness are been met.• You are responsible for carrying out chemical and facer trials on the production line and seeing them through to full scale production.• You must ensure that all trials are monitored and the effect on the finished board – physical test results, fit for use, adhesion etc.• Ensuring that pump calibrations are carried out to schedule.• Ensuring laminator, Laydown, butler, pump room & bulk tank room TPM's are adhered to.• Reporting any maintenance job requirements on the SAP system.• You are responsible for ensuring that the mould release and the dispensing system concentration and flow rates are carried out to schedule.
• Using Data Validation Tool to monitor the process and trouble shoot.• Liaise with shift leaders & shift coordinators ensuring that all areas are kept tidy.
• Assist and cover the lab to carry out day to day sampling, testing & re-testing of production samples as per set sampling rates and update results on LIMS system.• Assists in quality control of EPS and cavity therm lines.• Responsible for carrying out process improvement projects and reporting in a timely and tidy manner.• Responsible for assisting in continuous improvement projects.
• Assist and cover the lab to ensure that all raw material Goods Inwards are completed correctly and where required assist and advise with offloading tankers and IBC's, stacking coils etc.• Responsibilities include ensuring there is sufficient IBC stock connected up to machine, and enough in bulk tanks for line production.• You must monitor chemical Goods Inwards, and ensure that all products meet the required specification.• All duties must be carried out in accordance with the relevant work instruction or if one is not available to the highest standard possible.• Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the position, as requested by management.
