Clemson University: College of Engineering, Computing and Applied SciencesLocationC247 DEIC
Open DateDescriptionPost Doctoral Fellow: Integrated Photonics and Semiconductor Lasers The Holcombe Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering is seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Fellowship position in Integrated Photonics and Semiconductor Lasers.
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team focused on advancing integrated photonics, semiconductor lasers, and device packaging.
This is an opportunity to contribute to pioneering research in these areas with applications in next-generation photonics technologies.
The Holcombe Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering is one of the largest and most active departments at Clemson University, with 45 full-time faculty members, approximately 600 undergraduates, and 200 graduate students.
Annual research expenditures exceed $13 million.
Members of the faculty include five IEEE Fellows, four endowed chairs, and eight named professors.
The ECE department offers ABET-accredited B.S.
programs in electrical engineering and computer engineering, along with M.S.
and Ph.D. programs in both disciplines, as well as M.S.
and Ph.D. programs in Photonic Science and Technology.
Job Duties: The Postdoctoral Fellow will have responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Experimental Work: Conduct hands-on research in integrated photonics and semiconductor lasers, focusing on device fabrication, testing, and optimization.Numerical Simulations: Perform simulations to support experimental designs, assess device performance, and contribute to iterative design improvements.Data Analysis: Analyze experimental results, interpret findings, and document outcomes for publications and presentations.QualificationsPhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
Preferred: Strong background in integrated photonics/semiconductor laser systems/device packaging and prior experience with optical device nanofabrication and hybrid integration is highly desirable.
