Preconstruction Mechanical Engineer

Your new company A leading, multi-award-winning building services contractor in the UK is currently seeking a Preconstruction Mechanical Engineer to join their team.
This role will focus on Data Centre projects and will be based at their Dundalk office.
Your new role Key Duties: Evaluate tender drawings, models, specifications, and schedules.
Identify inconsistencies in tender documentation.
Manage RFI process during pre & post tender stages.
Assess documentation for modularisation opportunities.
Analyse equipment specs and ensure vendor compliance.
Identify value engineering opportunities for competitive submissions.
Coordinate with in-house teams for correct mark-up of schematics and project layouts.
Prepare handover documentation from tender to execution team.
Support design team with scope of works and schedule of deliverables.
Assist design team in selecting project plant, materials, and equipment.
Ensure early project stages comply with building codes and standards.
Collaborate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and authorities.
Maintain updates on industry advancements in building services.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
Coordinate model walkthrough videos for presentations and marketing.
What you'll need to succeed Third level education in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 3-5 years' experience within the building services or similar industry.
Excellent knowledge of reading mechanical schematics and building layouts.
Experienced in the use of Revit.
Experience and understanding of multidisciplinary design processes and design coordination.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Microsoft Teams.
