As a Principal Data Analyst – Business Analytics, you will engage with stakeholders and clients, delivering financial insights, reporting solutions, and data-driven recommendations that impact pricing, rebate billing, and operational strategies across healthcare and pharma sectors.
You'll help drive critical business decisions through your ability to analyse large datasets, develop robust analytics models, and work cross-functionally across finance, strategy, and network teams.Depending on your team alignment, you could be responsible for developing analytics and reporting solutions across various financial and business domains within OptumRx, including pricing models, financial forecasting, rebate billing, and business intelligence.
This role will see you working on high-visibility projects that directly impact operational performance, customer satisfaction, and overall company growth.Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin or Letterkenny offices and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.Primary Responsibilities:• Lead the development of pricing and financial models to support strategy and decision-making processes for senior leadership.• Develop reports, dashboards, and visualisations using tools like Power BI and Tableau to present financial trends, risks, and opportunities to key stakeholders.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams ensure business insights are properly aligned with strategic goals.• Analyse large datasets to develop actionable insights for pricing guarantees, rebate billing trends, network performance, or Medicare.• Support rebate billing analytics and rebate trend reporting to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to identify incremental revenue opportunities.• Drive process improvement initiatives by streamlining data collection, financial reporting, and analysis processes to maximise efficiency.• Present complex data findings in a clear and concise manner to leadership teams, providing recommendations for action.You will be rewarded and recognised for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel for data modelling and financial analysis.• Experience with Python and/or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• Proven experience in financial analysis, business intelligence, or retail / pricing analytics.• Experience in creating and maintaining reports and dashboards, with a focus in translating complex data into actionable insights.
• Strong communication skills, with proven experience in stakeholder and client engagement and consultation.
Preferred Qualifications:• Expertise with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualisation tools for reporting.• Background in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare or Retail analytics.
• Familiarity with Azure for handling large-scale data analysis and cloud-based data solutions.• Project management certification (PRINCE2 or similar) or experience leading cross-functional projects.Please note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the country to which you are making an application.
