Principal Data Engineer with a Software Engineering Background Build Greenfield Data Platforms from the Ground Up Lead Architectural Vision and Key Decisions 95% Remote Role with Monthly Meetups in Dublin This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded Investment Bank that is establishing a Centre of Excellence in Dublin. As a Principal Data Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and building a cutting-edge data platform that will unify diverse client systems, delivering global impact.

In this newly created, high-visibility role, you will leverage your Java engineering and data engineering expertise to bridge the worlds of software and data engineering. You'll lead a strategic initiative, guiding both the architecture and the team while mentoring a talented group of data engineers.

Utilising newest cutting edge tech (Azure, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, PySpark, ETLs), you will architect this project from scratch using the latest Azure technologies. The team operates remotely by default, with monthly meetups in Dublin to foster collaboration.

Skills/Experience Required: 10+ years of experience designing robust data pipelines and ETL processes Hands-on experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, PySpark Previous experience as a Tech Lead in Software Engineering (Java & Spring Boot) Please note: You must have Stamp 4/EU citizenship to be eligible for this role.
