We are seeking a Principal R&D Engineer (Clinical Engineering) on a permanent basis to join us on our mission.
Job Purpose We are seeking a Principal R&D Engineer to join our Clinical Engineering Group working on our ACURATE Transcatheter Aortic Valve device at Boston Scientific, Galway.
You will provide scientific understanding and technical engineering skills to meet business goals and objectives.
Ability to coach, lead and enhance the productivity of technical reports within the business.
Provide a structured framework for training of technical reports.
Build collaborative relationships through strong teamwork across the organization.
Key Responsibilities ????? Physician facing ISR research, managing and executing projects on ACURATE PRIME.
Lead Technical projects in the field working directly with Physicians and US/EMEA field teams.
Complex case support with CT segmentation and 3D printing.
Performs pioneering engineering work as part of major programs.
Defines the strategic impact of alternative technology in the context of the Site Long Range Plan.
Is acknowledged as a subject matter expert in a relevant technical field and influences associated site-wide technology planning.
Supports teamwork and staff development through a commitment to mentoring and technical leadership.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of manufacturing impact on product performance as perceived by the customer.
Is likely to be recognized outside their own site as a corporate expert resource on a given technology.
Evaluates in conjunction with EHS new equipment/processes/chemicals for environmental impact/effect to eliminate or lessen such impacts/effects.
Quality System Requirements In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.)
are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.
Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.
Education & Experience Level 8 Bachelors Degree (240 credits) in Engineering/Science, preferably?Mechanical, Materials or Biomedical Engineering.
5+ years in a Design /Manufacturing or healthcare environment.
Experience with design, fixturing development and customer facing experience essential.
R&D/Technical experience preferably in the Medical Device sector.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
