Process Technician Location: Anngrove, Carrigtwohill
Contract: Permanent
Shift: 24/7 (2 Days, 2 Nights & 4 Days Off)
Provides technical process support to a project or function. This position's primary function is that of ensuring that manufacturing processes run consistently and meet performance targets, that equipment downtime is kept to a minimum, and the manufacturing business is supported in every way necessary to maximize line yield and availability.
What you will do: Ensure all maintenance activities and documentation is to GMP standards.Engage in mechanical / electrical / electronic/process troubleshooting, and in resolving hardware/software interfacing problems on the production floor, in collaboration with facilities functions.Develop a technical knowledge of next generation equipment, working with team to ensure all technical issues are identified and eliminated at the earliest opportunity.Liaise with support functions to develop their knowledge of the equipment and ensure a system of continuous, shared learning is in place.Diagnose malfunctioning systems to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair.Investigate all build failures / Furnace failures causing scrap, determine root cause and implement corrective actions across all equipment.Actively interface with cross-functional team members and 3rd party Vendors, always practicing good teamwork in support of day-to-day operating requirements.Identify and assist the business with the implementation of technical improvements.Repair / troubleshoot systems and processes, identifying root causes on system failures, and implement permanent solutions.Coordinate preventative maintenance and calibration activities on assigned lines, processes and/or areas.Provide process and maintenance improvements, initiatives using data analysis & trending reports.Provide technical support to the manufacturing business unit with new product introductions and transitions from other sites as required.Participate in cross-functional and cross-divisional process improvement initiatives.Provide support for equipment procurement and assistance in the execution of installations, validations, FATs, & SATs ensuring equipment added to the business is standardized where possible.Ensure weekly and monthly equipment uptime metrics for the Business Unit are available and that significant downtime is recorded and actioned.Liaise with Production Team Leaders and Manufacturing Engineers on issues relating to productivity, scrap and efficiency performance issues.Ensure compliance to site and divisional maintenance procedures.All other duties as required.What you will need: Certificate/ Diploma in Engineering/Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical & toolmaking or related discipline is desirable, but not a requirement.Significant Additive Manufacturing experience.Good knowledge of electronics and software control systems.2+ years experience in a modern manufacturing environment ideally with previous experience in some or all of the following:- Low / medium voltage electrical power systems
- Pneumatics;
- PLCs;
- Instrumentation;
- Hydraulics;
- Calibration;
- AutoCAD
Experience in the medical device industry is an advantage.Business understanding of operations and their impacts essential.High level of PC Skills required.Flexibility essential.Strong communication skills with both internal and external agents.Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
