Profile of the Role: The Procurement Assistant purchases and assists in the expediting of Equipment and services which involves the sourcing, identification of supplies, agreeing prices/terms, negotiation of delivery dates/schedules and communication with vendors as well as liaison with on site business areas.
Description of Duties: Assisting the Procurement team to implement procurement plans supporting the Project Procurement Plan and Facility Project plansAnalysing quotations and preparing commercial bid analysis with vendor recommendation to site business partnersNegotiating and achieving cost reductions and savings with suppliers/contractors for Equipment and servicesExecuting PO transactions in SAP & AribaExpediting of Purchase Orders and regular status reportingApplying the Vendor Management process for setting up vendors on SAP & AribaPO Management on SAPMaintaining filing system for Purchase Orders and Vendor DataBackup responsibilities in similar Procurement roles as required by business.Education: IIPMM Certificate/Degree or Business degree or relevant qualification
IT Systems: Advanced MS Office Suite eg: Word, ExcelPrevious SAP / Ariba experience an advantageExperience and Requirements: Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with relevant parties.Flexibility and the ability to handle multiple requests from across several areas.Strong sense of customer focus and teamwork.Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative under minimal supervision.All applications will be treated with the strictest confidence
