Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client An Garda Sochna are currently recruiting for the position of Procurement Manager.
This post will run initially for 6 to 9 months.
This role will be a hybrid working model, onsite location is Garda HQ, Pheonix Park Dublin.
The salary on offer for this post is Est €80k p.a.
with the successful candidate working a 35 hour week Monday to Friday.
The start date for this position is ASAP.

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring a consistent and cost-effective supply for our operations.
This hybrid role allows for a mix of remote and on-site work, offering flexibility while maintaining essential in-person collaboration.
The role involves developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, procurement transformation and alignment, planning and implementing procurement strategies that align with our goals.
Strategic Responsibilities: Understand and adhere to EU Public Procurement Directives Identify and develop relationships with suppliers Evaluate and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
Develop and implement procurement strategies to secure a consistent supply of high-quality services and materials.
Procurement transformation - organisational and process change management Collaborate with the operations team to forecast and align procurement plans.
Monitor and manage procurement budgets to achieve cost savings and efficiency.
Identify opportunities for cost management and process improvement.
Ensure procurement practices align with the company's sustainability goals and environmental policies.
Work with warehouse management team on planning and inventory management systems.
Work with tender management team on planning and contract management Operational Responsibilities Develop supplier management and initiate business and organization partnerships.
Manage the operational procurement transformation ordering process Manage the organisation procurement transformation program including the selection and hiring of new staff members Support Head of Procurement in development of Category Management strategy Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services.
Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries.
Examine and test existing contracts.
Track and report key functional metrics to improve effectiveness.
Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
A Master's degree is desirable but not essential.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and/or business administration management Team management experience is needed Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
