The Procurement Officer Level 2 will coordinate and manage the administration of all procurement activities and associated processes within the Galway Executive Skillnet (GES) Business Unit (BU).
This role ensures that procurement activities deliver value for money and align with GES Operating Guidelines and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the end-to-end administration of procurement processes, ensuring compliance with organisational guidelines and regulatory requirements.Organise and manage procurement activities to maximise value for money and operational efficiency.Maintain and update procurement systems to ensure accuracy and alignment with best practices.Develop and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to support organizational objectives.Monitor and evaluate procurement practices, escalating issues as necessary to ensure alignment with standards.Support the delivery of training sessions, where applicable, for stakeholders or third parties.Provide timely reports and data analysis to assist in effective decision-making.Execute results-based procurement tasks while adhering to deadlines and organisational priorities.Knowledge/Qualifications: Professional qualifications in Business, Finance, or equivalent work experience.Comprehensive knowledge of procurement systems and processes.Functional Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.Strong organisational and time management capabilities, including task prioritisation and multi-tasking.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Ability to analyse data and make informed, effective judgments.Skilled in problem-solving and influencing individuals to achieve desired outcomes.Attention to detail with a focus on precision and accuracy.Proven ability to excel in customer relationships and enhance the customer experience.Results-oriented mindset with a track record of task execution and achievement.Experience: Prior experience in public or government procurement and/or E-Tenders is advantageous.Previous experience in training delivery or within a Learning & Development environment is desirable but not essential.Key Attributes: Commitment to upholding best practices in procurement and customer service.A proactive approach to problem-solving and driving process improvements.Strong team player with a professional demeanour and a focus on results.To Apply for this Job Click Here
