The procurement specialist role has responsibility for the sourcing of raw material and non-resale goods.
The ideal candidate will have a strong record in procurement, understand commodity markets and food trends, and have strong experience in supplier negotiation.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for sourcing product to ensure best quality, and value, whilst driving profit in line with the Company's operating plans. This will be achieved through efficient sourcing and supply of relevant product, at optimal price and range, to meet and exceed our customers' expectations.
This role will work closely cross-functionally with other departments including Production, Supply Chain, Business Excellence, Food Quality & Safety, and Finance.
This role will be based between Avoca's Head Office in Kilmacanogue, Co Wicklow and Avoca's Central Bakery & Kitchen in Bray, Co Wicklow.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic sourcing of products to ensure best value and quality.
Materialize procurement savings and ensure Avoca is always buying at the best price.
Liaise with all key stakeholders to ensure efficient sourcing for business requirement and new product development.
Work closely with Finance and the Food Team on pricing and NPD.
Supplier contract and relationship management.
Development of Service Level Agreements with key suppliers.
Pricing negotiations with suppliers.
Tender management.
Ensure continuity of supply.
Monitor supply and commodity market movement developing plans for supply cover.
Manage supplier price lists and administration.
Produce regular reports on procurement KPIs and supplier performance.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, service improvements and process improvements within the business.
Keep up to date with commodity markets and industry trends and developments.
The successful candidate will have/be: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a procurement role.
Experience of working in the food industry a definite benefit.
Proven track record of delivering commercial results.
Strong commercial acumen and proven analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and strong negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
Degree or relevant experience.
