Product Innovation Developer

IES is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Developer to join the Product Innovation Team.
The candidate will play a critical role in advancing the state of the art of the current software solutions, as well as in producing advanced proof of concepts and prototypes for new products.
Responsibilities: Contribute to and maintain the codebase in accordance with team and company standards.Design algorithms, data flows, and workflows for prototype solutions and new features or services.Create and maintain libraries and packages that support a microservices architecture.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, software engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders, to turn prototypes into production-ready features.Conduct independent research to explore innovative solutions.Analyse and interpret large datasets to drive insights and decision-making.Present research findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.Mentor and guide junior developers, supporting their professional growth.Familiarize with AI techniques and explore their secure integration into traditional workflows.The CandidateWe are looking for candidates who have a background equivalent to a PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields or a Master's degree in similar topics with 3 years of industry experience, or a Bachelor's degree in similar topics with 5 years of industry experience.

Proficiency in Python programming.Solid knowledge of software development practices, DevOps, Git, and version control systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.Experience with data analysis, data mining, and interpretation of large datasets.Experience with machine learning and optimization techniques.Basic understanding of building physics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.Experience with cloud-based development and deployment.Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment.The RewardsYou will have the opportunity to develop your career in a supportive environment, while contributing to our goal of decarbonising the built environment.
