The Role
The successful candidate will work within the software team and have responsibility for the design, implementation and support for IT Systems installed on Liebherr Container Cranes and associated products.
Person ProfileThe ideal candidate has qualified in a relevant engineering discipline and has excellent knowledge of IT systems. Is highly motivated, dependable, and thorough and can manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Is confident and can challenge the status quo, adapting to new technologies or techniques easily. Possess excellent planning, scheduling and organisational skills and can manage and deliver projects to challenging deadlines. Must have excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to build, manage and maintain relationships at all levels. Is a natural problem solver, with the ability to deliver solutions and results.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Participate in the design of information and operational support systemsSelect, install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management toolsTesting of IT hardware, hardware upgrades, RAM, Hard disks, RAID setup/Configuration and support of sameProactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availabilityMaintain security, backup, and redundancy strategiesProvide remote support for systems in the fieldProvide support to users for system and application software, setups, and configurations.System Documentation – Develop & Maintain system documentationIT Security & Patch managementSetup and support of Licence managementMonitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixesWrite and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasksLiaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolutionLiaise with network and software designers to ensure system requirements are fulfilledConfigure operating systems to user environmentsQualifications, Requirements and ExperienceDegree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience.Ability to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.Experience or certification in the following an advantage:Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting windows based environments.Experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacksCloud experience, preferably in AZUREExperience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)Experience with monitoring systemsKnowledge of scripting (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)Knowledge of networking (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary, pension scheme, training and development opportunities, subsidised canteen, retailer discounts, travel opportunities, sports and social club, cycle to work scheme and if that isn't enough, we have an early finish on a Friday!
