The BASF Ireland site based in Cork manufactures specialty chemicals used in the mining industry for the solvent extraction of minerals from their ore bodies. At BASF, the chemistry is right. What you can expect: You will operate, monitor and clean our equipment to ensure that production runs smoothly. Therefore, you will work within a team which is responsible for the execution of tasks associated with the production of LIX.Reagents, from the handling of incoming raw materials, operating the production process, handling of process waste streams and the dispatch of finished product.You always take into account the safety and environmental protection regulations at all times and potential dangers.You recognise faults and you report and rectify them.For maintenance work, you will prepare the equipment with the shift management.You value an open, diverse, creative, responsible and entrepreneurial working environment.What we expect: A level 6 qualification in a scientific related discipline or a minimum of 5 years work experience in a manufacturing environment.You are available for shift work as required. The shift pattern may be varied according to business and staffing requirements.You are aware of EHS requirements to ensure safe working systems and practices are followed, being able to take responsibility for personal actions and the actions of others.You are an effective communicator and have decision making skills, with a 'can-do' attitude who can work independently or as part of a team to ensure that targets are achieved.Good analytical skills to identify & implement process improvements.High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office.Experience with Delta V, PIMS, SAP, and "lean tools" is an advantage.At BASF you get more than just compensation.
