Abbott Ireland Nutrition Division Cootehill Cavan Abbott Nutrition produces a range of infant formulae in all pack sizes under the brand name "Similac". To complement the range of "Similac" infant formulae, the facility also manufactures a range of follow on formulae under the brand name of "Gain". The essential ingredient is liquid skim milk and this is combined with carbohydrate, vegetable oils, vitamins and minerals. The product is blended, pasteurised, dried and packaged at the site and once packaged, is distributed to Europe, South East Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Canada.
Established in 1975, Abbott Nutrition in Ireland is the largest powder manufacturing facility for the production of infant formulae within the Abbott Corporation worldwide. Approximately 1,000 dairy farms in Ireland and Northern Ireland supply quality milk to the Cootehill facility which processes 500,000 litres per day. This secure supply together with Ireland's reputation as a green, clean environment is of significant strategic importance to Abbott Nutrition.
The role of Production Supervisor will involve the following: Primary Function Responsible for allocating responsibilities and overseeing operations for assigned area and lines whilst monitoring productivity rates against established targets.Oversight of materials management and reviews the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for materials management and cleaning activities.Propose and implement improvements to production workflows, equipment and systems to achieve production targets in a timely manner.Plan and manage production activities in a way which drives operational efficiency and excellence and should possess underlying technical knowledge of equipment and systems within the facilities.Comply strictly with highly regulated standards.Key Responsibilities Lead and drive collaborative efforts required to deliver quality and compliance performance for shift.Initiate, manage and make decisions which impact product quality.Model and promote behaviours that ensure delivery of high-quality products for our customers while championing compliance with Abbott policies and procedures, meeting all local and statutory requirements.Accountable for shopfloor incident investigation and reporting for assigned area, coupled with timely escalation and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.Track, trend, and continuously improve performance for overtime, OEE, production.Promote and drive continuous improvement programs using Operational Excellence tools and methodologies in processes/procedures in the shift for root cause analysis and resolution of issues.Drive OEE performance, understand the drivers, and develop and execute plans around improvement of line performance and quality metrics with support from direct manager.Actively plan and organize the day-to-day manufacturing operations and schedules.Anticipate and drive proper alignment and prioritization between manufacturing and support teams.Coach and direct individuals and the team to meet performance goals and objectives.Lead efforts required to deliver the EHS performance for the shift/line of accountability.Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in manufacturing/science.3 years' experience working in a manufacturing/science environment.Knowledge of an Automated Manufacturing Environment with a solid understanding of FMC would be an advantage.Key Skills Excellent oral and written communication.Coaching and development skill.Change management and problem-solving skills.Team Player.Demonstrated leadership capabilities.Experience working on Continuous Improvement Projects.Analytical and systematic in investigating problems and decisive in implementing optimal solutions.Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
