Production Supervisor

Our client, a leading MedTech company in Limerick is a full service global supplier of innovative and sustainable plastic packaging solutions, and are currently looking for a Production Supervisor to join their team.
The successful candidate will assist with the management and training of the Production Operators, and to provide cover for leave and sickness.
The plant operates 24/7 and the Supervisors are required to work a 4 shift cycle pattern.
Full training will be provided to the successful applicant.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage the overall activities of the Production department including but not limited to production, processing, machine maintenance and tooling maintenance.
Support with planning and scheduling of product changes with the Management Team to consistently meet expected product delivery schedules and inventory levels.
Responsible for assuring the efficient use of materials, machines, auxiliary equipment, and employees.
Troubleshoot Production processes, machines, and auxiliary equipment problems and make necessary changes to ensure quality and reduce downtime.
Day to day management of the production line and associated operators maximizing production capacity and resources.
Ensure Health and Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
Achieve manufacturing targets and continuous improvement initiatives.
Communicate with other areas to maintain efficiencies and quality of products.
Maintain constant adherence to all company customer and legal requirements.
Support and direct the Operator team to ensure machinery is running effectively and downtime is minimized.
Participate in and support the Quality Management System.
Maintain employee performance review, training, development, and disciplinary programs.
Train and develop Production Operators relative to the Production process, promote employee understanding and adherence to safety regulations and the Quality Management System.
Present Daily Review meetings to Management Hold shift changeover briefings.
Setting and sharing best practice.
Ideally 2- 3 years' experience as a Production Supervisor in a high volume manufacturing environment.
Plastic moulding experience would be desirable.
Working knowledge of ISO and BRC standards would be desirable, however full training will be provided.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience in people management.
Ability to consistently deliver business results, demonstrate ownership and accountability.
Understanding good manufacturing practices Ability to lead by teaching.
Solid written and spoken English skills.
