Our Client, a leading medical device manufacturer in Leitrim urgently requires a Production Unit Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Managing all aspects of assembly production to meet or exceed company goals of efficiency, delivery on time, quality and cost targets Ensuring adequate resources are available to meet the production requirements.
Reorganizing resources as required.
Ensuring that all procedures are maintained and followed.
Updating systems and procedures to meet the existing and future demands of the assembly.
Liaising with other departments especially Engineering, Quality and warehouse/shipping to ensure the smooth running of operations.
A special focus on the introduction of new products to production to ensure that customer expectations are met or exceeded, especially in terms of quality and delivery performance.
Managing the Assembly/Extrusion department to ensure optimum performance is maintained and staff are motivated.
Ensuring the continuing development of staff through training, coaching and experience.
Ensuring that all disputes and grievances within the areas of responsibility are handled in compliance with Company procedures and Irish legislation.
Ensuring all activities are carried out according to the relevant Medical and Industry standards and internal procedures.
Provide accurate and up-to-date reporting with regard to KPI's related to area of responsibility, Ensuring compliance with budgets and plans.
Demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the OH&S, Environmental and Energy Management Systems by developing, leading and promoting a culture which supports the intended outcomes of the management systems.
Directing and supporting persons to contribute to the effectiveness of these management systems Adhere to Plant Safety requirements and Health & Safety requirements relating to your work, assuming responsibility for those aspects of the OH&S System over which you have control to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others.
Be aware of the potential environmental impacts associated with your work and the implications of non-conformance.
Contribute to enhanced energy performance by conservation of energy where possible (Lighting, Equipment, Air Conditioning etc).
Contribute to the continual improvement activities of the OH&S, Environmental and Energy Management systems through participation, providing feedback/ suggestions for improvement and by reporting accidents, dangerous occurrence, near miss/ illness, good catch and environmental incidents in a timely manner.
Degree in Production Engineering, Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Design or Engineering qualification, preferred.
Minimum 3 years experience in Medical Devices including the manufacture of catheters and stents.
2-3 years experience in managing Production in the Medical Device Industry.
Professional and knowledgeable with ability to develop strong relationships with customers and potential customers.
Project Management capability and experience would be an additional benefit.
