Team Horizon is seeking a Project Automation Engineer for a leading pharmaceutical company in Waterford.
The Project Engineer is responsible for safely coordinating and leading projects relating to Automation and Cyber projects.
The primary responsibility of the role is to ensure that the project meets its agreed goals/targets on time and on budget.
The engineer reports project progress to the Department Manager to ensure the equipment/facility design and goals/targets are achieved.

What you will be doing: • Safely coordinate the delivery of automation upgrades associated with facility equipment, including but not limited to Packaging Lines, Press Equipment, Case Packers, BMS Systems, etc.
• Coordinate the upgrading of automation systems with above-site representatives and onsite key stakeholders.
• Possess knowledge of cybersecurity systems and requirements, and address potential systems obsolescence.
• Lead the Project Team or support the validation following project upgrades/installs.
• Complete scoping of Windows and Server upgrades as required, considering cybersecurity implications and obsolescence risks.
• Conduct Front End Studies for upgrading equipment and systems.
• Create and present Project Approvals to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) for approval.
• Coordinate all equipment documentation requirements, ensuring they meet local and company standards.
• Commission and validate automation upgrades as required.
• Report to the Project Manager on project progress and provide advice/support on key project outcomes, including cybersecurity and obsolescence issues.
• Work with relevant Business Unit team leaders to implement improvement opportunities.
• Lead regular Project review meetings, with a focus on cybersecurity and obsolescence.
• Manage contractors as required, ensuring they adhere to cybersecurity protocols and address systems obsolescence.
What you need to apply: • Third level qualification in an Engineering or Science or equivalent discipline/experience (Automation).
• Experience of working within either the medical device or bio/pharmaceutical industry would be an advantage but not necessary.
5 years+ experience.
• Knowledge of Windows and Server Upgrades • Knowledge and previous experience associated with cyber security.
• Experience of SAP an advantage.
• Project Management experience is preferable but not necessary.
• Interpersonal skills required to operate in a multi-function project team set up.
• Ability to work within a team and on own initiative to articulate and deliver specific functional requirements for all aspects of the project and work with members of various disciplines and functions across the project
