Job Description As a key member of the Ireland and UK Project Delivery Unit, and of the Project Controls Management Team, the Project Controller will support the development and the execution of new renewable projects in the Regions ensuring that Project Teams receive the required support in monitoring and control projects deliverable in terms of planning, cost controlling and risk management activities, reporting to Statkraft standards.
The Project Controller reports to the Project Control Manager / PDU Delivery Directors in a matrixed environment and is responsible for managing the schedule, controlling the capex inclusive of the change management process and assessing the main risks from the development phase until project completion, by analysing all available project data, considering all approved milestones, targets, constraints, criticalities, and assumptions.
Areas of responsibility and accountabilities Prepare and manage the time schedule across the Project Lifecycle supporting the Project Team Members in controlling and monitoring the progress of the development, procurement, engineering, and construction phases.
Plan and control the physical progress curves (S curves) for each project phase (i.e by plant area, subcontractor/vendor).Analyse the critical path and prepare the recovery action in agreement with the Project Team.
Support the definition of the Project's Capex until the main investment decision, ensure the collection of the relevant information from all the units involves.
Control and monitoring of Actuals, Committed and Forecast during the execution phase.
Provide Planned Vs Actual analysis (both in terms of time and cost) measured against the Baseline, as well as possible drivers and actions of improvement.
Identify, quantify the risks that could impact on project schedule and capex, bringing delay to milestone achievement and/or extra cost to approved baseline.
Manage together with the Project Team the risks identified, in order to mitigate impact and/or probability.
Provide information to highlight any discrepancies between physical progress of the project and their economic impacts.
Prepare monthly capex & schedule reports and provide assistance to Project Managers in the preparation of the monthly SteerCo reports.
Perform cost-benefit analysis for evaluating the implementation of mitigation actions aimed at reducing project riskiness.
Interface with all Company units on site or office based, as well as Contractors & PMAs in order to provide reliable cost, risk & scheduling data for the whole Project activities.
Attend and contribute to QRA (Quality Risk Assessment) sessions and the development of P50 and P70 budgets.
Manage the change management process from contract award to closeout inclusive of both external and internal cost centres and WBS's.
Contribute to the growth and development of the overall Project Controls best practices and continuous improvements.
Qualifications Masters or university degree in engineering , QS, Construction Management or Contracts Administration on large capex projects or similar with documented extensive experience in the field MBA or MSc or equivalent training in Project Management and/or certification in PMI is a plus.
Experience / knowledge Project control experience from large, complex, international investment projects.
Previous experience in renewable projects is desirable.
Good knowledge of relevant systems and tools including Office package (Excel, Power Point, Word), Primavera P6, Primavera Risk Analysis plus other planning packages (MS Project etc) Good working knowledge of SAP is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
